OAEA is thrilled to welcome Dana Lynn Louis as our 2026 keynote speaker! A Portland-based visual artist, educator, and social activist, Louis explores themes of interconnectedness through drawing, painting, textiles, sculpture, performance, and large-scale public installations.

As the founder and director of Gather: Make: Shelter. Louis uses art and creativity to build authentic connections across diverse communities and recognize our shared humanity. Her work celebrates the power of creativity to bring people together, inspire hope, and create meaningful change.

The Oregon Art Education Association is seeking engaging presentations and hands-on workshops for our 2026 Fall Conference on Friday, October 9, at the Portland Art Museum and Portland State University's new Schnitzer School of Art + Art History + Design. We invite proposals that inspire creativity, spark curiosity, foster meaningful connections, and offer practical ideas that educators can bring back to their classrooms.
